Khaitan & Co and Khaitan & Co LLP are organized under the laws of India. References to “we”, “us” or “Khaitan” are references to Khaitan & Co and/or Khaitan & Co LLP.
Reference to “personal data” means any information relating to a person, by which such person may be identified such as a name, an identification number, location data or relating to that person’s physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.
What kind of personal data do we collect?
We collect contact information, such as your name, job title, organisation, business address, including your home address, where you have provided this to us, telephone number, mobile phone number, fax number and email address.
How do we use your personal data?
We use the personal data we collect for communication purposes, including: (i) to send you newsletters and other information about us; (ii) to send you invitations to events, training sessions, conferences and lectures; and (iii) to maintain our list of contacts.
With whom do we share your personal data?
We do not share your personal data with any third party other than for storage purposes on servers which may be located outside the EU. We may also share your personal data with competent authorities if required under applicable law.
Why do we process your personal data and on what legal basis?
We process your personal data to send you updates regarding legal and regulatory developments, as well as Khaitan related events, activities and news. In case of on-going assignments, we will also process your personal data for the assignment including but not limited to receiving instructions and delivery of our services and billing aspects of the assignment, all of which are in legitimate interests. We will not use your data for any automated decision making or any profiling.
How long do we store your personal data?
We will delete your personal data when (a) it is no longer reasonably required for the purposes for which you have given your consent; (b) you have withdrawn your consent (where applicable); or (c) when we are not legally required or otherwise permitted to continue to hold such data. We may, however, continue to store your personal data, if and for such duration and purpose as we may be required to do under applicable laws.
How do we ensure security of your personal data?
All personal data is saved in secure cloud with multiple levels of security.
What are your rights under the GDPR in relation to your personal data?
Upon a request by you under certain conditions, we will
- provide you with a copy of your personal data;
- correct any errors in your personal data identified by you;
- restrict our processing of your personal data;
- erase your personal data; and
- if you object to the processing of personal data, stop sending you direct communications and stop processing your personal data, save and except in our legitimate interests.
